Further to Page 29 note 7 a purely Metric System would be if we take a Dial having 31.830914 mm f i.e. » 31.8 mm f then the Circumference of the Dial would be 100 mm. We then divide this Circumference into 10 Basic parts, and then once again divide each Basic part into 10 further parts. As such, we get a Dial Circumference of 100 mm divided into 100 equal parts each of which is equal to 1 mm. See Figure – 29.

The new scale would then be 10 X 100 X 100 = 1,00,000. Then our kilometer would become 40075 ¸ 1,00,000 = 0.40075 Kms. = 1 Chinna Km , 1 Chikm is about 400 meters or » 0.4 Kms.
