Looking at Pg.16, Fig. 9 At A we see the Earth with 40075 Km Circumferential distance and at B converted to 86400 Chkm (L= l Length). At C we see half of A’s Circumferential distance i.e. 20037.5 km at D we see half of the distance at B and 20037.5 km converted into 43200 Chkm (E= 1 Extent). At E we see the distance of 43200 Chkm converted into a elliptical shape. At F this is shown as a regular circle having 43200 Chkm = 1E. At G, F is repeated and divided into 12 parts, (this depicts half the Earth’s Circumfrential distance i.e.43200Chkm = E). At G’ we see the magnification of one of the 12 divisions (between 12 and 1) which also gives us 3600 Chkm = 1 Basic (B) divided further into 5 parts each of 720 Chkm and which is further divided into 12 divisions, such that when we multiply these 12 divisions by 5 divisions we get 60 divisions each = 1 Range ( R ) and finally 1/12 of 720 which is 60, which in turn gives us 60 Portions each = 1 Portion ( P ) so that when we multiply 60 P by 60R we get 3600 Chkm. At H we have constructed a Distance Piece of 60 Chmm (not to Scale) circumference having similar divisions as shown in figure G.
43200 Chkilometers x 1000 = 43,200,000 Chmeters
scaling down by 1000
43,200,000 = 43,200 Chmeter
1000
43,200 Chmeters x 1000 = 43,200,000 Chmillimeters
scaling down by 1000
43,200,000 = 43,200 Ch millimeters
1000
\43,200 Ch Kilometers scaled down by _ 1__ x __1___ = ___1____
= 43,200 Ch millimeters 1,000 1,000 1,000,000
43,200 Chmm ¸ 12 = 3,600 Chmm 3,600 Chmm ¸ 60 = 60 Chmm
We have now a dial of 60Chmm circumference divided into 12 parts, further divided into 5 parts see Page 16 figure G – G’. [See also Page 14, Fig.7]

Note:-( 4 ) (The DISTANCE PIECE Divisions have been made in accordance with our TIME PIECES i.e.2x(12x60x60) =2x(43200)=86400 so that it would be easy to read and understand the Distance Pieces as we are now reading and understanding the Time Pieces.)
Note:-( 5 ) The disadvantage of the distance piece with 25 divisions as shown on Page 12, Fig 5 the dial would be too big, as we can not divide 25 into 2 equal and decimal free parts. Also it would be difficult for people used to using the normal time pieces to use such a distance piece. So the distance piece with the same divisions as the common time piece has been chosen for simplicity sake.
A Chotu Kilometer = 0.463831km which when multiplied by 86400would give us 40075 Km which is L = The Earth’s Equatorial Circumferential Distance See Notation on page 13.
We Construct a Distance Piece with 240Chmm Circumference See Fig. 8 (240Chmm x.463831 = 111.3mm / 3.1416=35.4f mm) This 240 Chmm Circumference we further divide into 12 main divisions each of 20 Chmm and these 12 main divisions we further divide into 5 smaller divisions. i.e. 20Chmm/5=4Chmm each ( 4x 0.463831=1.855324 » 1.9mm say roughly 2mm )
Fit a suitable gear mechanism in this distance piece so that the tip of the needle B is Matched to move exactly twice around the dial (starting dead middle 12 to 12 and then dead middle 12 again) i.e. from one sunrise to another sunrise, so that this will give us l L = 86400 Chkm (0.463831 x 86400ChKm= 40075 Km) for two complete Dial revolutions i.e.2x 240Chmm (= 480Chmm); 2 Dial would Represent 86400Chkm = 1L (0.463831 x 86400Chkm = 40075 Km) and for one Dial i.e.240Chmm=1Dial would represent 86400Chkm/2= 43200Chkm=1E= (20037.5km)
